“Peace is not God's gift to his creatures. It is our gift to each other”
~ Elie Wiesel

Peaceful Prayers

Let there be peace in the world.

Let us all see peace and not war.

Let us all have peace in the world.

Let all our statesmen know no violence,

Let all respect peace with real reverence.

Let peace pervade every political terrain,

Let peace calm the spirits of every domain,

Let peace be at peace with every reign,

Let each achieve peace with poor pain.

Peace, to you we plead: come to us.

Peace, we entreat you: deign on us.

Peace, we want you: envelope us.

Let our homes be adorned with peace,

Let our streets be paved with peace,

Let our cities be set on a hilltop of peace.

Let peace taint our every thought.

Let there be peace, let peace never cease

Let there be peace, let war forever cease.

~Jude Ogunade

Moral

Life, nature and its beautiful sources on earth is just for us and we should respect and enjoy them all, Do not disturb, polute or destroy this nature and humanity just for the shake of personal benefit.

“Fighting to kill or to be killed is not boldness, but fighting to get our rights back in favour is boldness”

A Story about Gandhi
As Gandhi stepped aboard a train one day, one of his shoes slipped off and landed on the track. He was unable to retrieve it as the train started rolling. To the amazement of his companions, Gandhi calmly took off his other shoe and threw it back along the track to land close to the first shoe.Asked by a fellow passenger why he did that, Gandhi replied –
“The poor man who finds the shoe lying on the track will now have a pair he can use."

“Be not afraid of life. Believe that life IS worth living and your belief will help to create the fact.”
~ James Adams

A Poem
Moments in Life
There are moments in life when you miss someone, so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!

When the door of happiness closes, another opens; but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one, which has been opened for us.
Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.
Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you’re the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying. Don't count the years-count the memories...........

A story
Motivation is a source of Power

A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died. The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?" The frog explained to them that: " he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time."

This story teaches two lessons: (1)
There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day.
(2) A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes to kill them.
Be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path. The power of words... it is sometimes hard to understand that an encouraging word can go such a long way. Anyone can speak words that tend to rob another of the spirit to continue in difficult times. Special is the individual who will take the time to encourage another.

Life is a lesson to learn
When I was in elementary school, I got into a major argument with a boy in my class. I have forgotten what the argument was about, but I have never forgotten the lesson learned that day.
I was convinced that "I" was right and "he" was wrong - and he was just as convinced that "I" was wrong and "he" was right. The teacher decided to teach us a very important lesson. She brought us up to the front of the class and placed him on one side of her desk and me on the other.
In the middle of her desk was a large, round object. I could clearly see that it was black. She asked the boy what color the object was. "White," he answered.
I couldn’t believe he said the object was white, when it was obviously black! Another argument started between my classmate and me, this time about the color of the object.
The teacher told me to go stand where the boy was standing and told him to come stand where I had been. We changed places, and now she asked me what the color of the object was. I had to answer, "White." It was an object with two differently colored sides, and from his viewpoint it was white. Only from my side was it black.

My teacher taught me a very important lesson learned that day:

“You must stand in the other person’s shoes and look at the situation through their eyes in order to truly understand their perspective”

''The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of their minds.''
~ William James

.

A story
There was a man who made his living selling balloons at a fair. He had balloons of different colors, including red, yellow, blue and green. Whenever business was slow, he would release a helium-filled balloon into the air. When the children saw the balloon go up, they all wanted one. They would come up to him, buy a balloon and his sales would go up. All day, he continued to release a balloon whenever the sales slowed down.
One day, the balloon man felt someone tugging at his jacket. He turned and a little boy asked, ''If you release a black balloon, would that balloon also fly?'' moved by the boy's concern, the man replied gently, ''Son, it is not the color of the balloon, it is what is inside that makes it to go up.''
The same principle applies to our lives
It's what's inside that counts. And what is inside of us that makes us go up is our attitude. The foundation of success, regardless of your chosen field, is attitude.

A famous Story
There is very instructive incident involving the life of Alexander, the great Greek king.
Alexander, after conquering many kingdoms, was returning home. On the way, he fell ill and it took him to his death bed. With death staring him in his face, Alexander realized how his conquests, his great army, his sharp sword and all his wealth were of no consequence.
He now longed to reach home to see his mother's face and bid her his last adieu. But, he had to accept the fact that his sinking health would not permit Him to reach his distant homeland. So, the mighty conqueror lay prostrate and pale, helplessly waiting to breathe his last. He called his generals and said, "I will depart from this world soon, I have three wishes, please carry them out without fail." With tears flowing down their cheeks, the generals agreed to abide by their king's last wishes.
“My first desire is that," said Alexander, “My physicians alone must carry my coffin." After a pause, he continued, “Secondly, I desire that when my coffin is being carried to the grave, the path leading to the graveyard be strewn with gold, silver and precious stones which I have collected in my treasury. The king felt exhausted after saying this. He took a minute's rest and continued. "My third and last wish is that both my hands be kept dangling out of my coffin."

The people who had gathered there wondered at the king's strange wishes. But no one dare bring the question to their lips. Alexander's favorite general kissed his hand and pressed them to his heart. “O king, we assure you that your wishes will all be fulfilled. But tell us why do you make such strange wishes?" At this Alexander took a deep breath and said:
“I would like the world to know of the three lessons I have just learnt. I want my physicians to carry my coffin because people should realize that

“No doctor can really cure any body. They are powerless and cannot save a person from the clutches of death. So let not people take life for granted.”
The second wish of strewing gold, silver and other riches on the way to the graveyard is to tell People that not even a fraction of gold will come with me.

“I spent all my life earning riches but cannot take anything with me. Let people realize that it is a sheer waste of time to chase wealth.”
And about my third wish of having my hands dangling out of the coffin,

“I wish people to know that I came empty handed into this world and empty handed I go out of this world."
With these words, the king closed his eyes. Soon he let death conquer him and breathed his last. . . . .

A poem for you
(In my wordings……)

Khoob jiyo, jee bhar ke jiyo, pal pal me jiyo, har pal me jiyo.
Kuchh mat soncho, kuchh mat samjho, samajh ke aakhir kya karoge.

Maana amar nahi hai kuchh bhi, paakar khoona… padega tab bhi.
Jee-jaan luta do... paalo sab-kuchh, kardo amar tum apni yaadein.

Nahi milega tumko mauka, zindagi to hai… bas ek dhokha
Is dhokhe ko shaan se jeelo, jitna mile… utna tum peelo.
Khushi ka koi mol nahi, is anamol amrit ko peelo.

samjhaya Alexander ne humko, nahi milega… aakhir kuchh tumko,
bhale jeetlo duniya saari, rahegi mutthi khaali tumhaari.
Sach hai baat Alexander ki saari, par na maane…. dil aaj hamari

Dil kahta hai….

jeewan ki abhi shaam door hai, shaam se pahle subah zaroor hai,
us-subah ki laali me….. abhi baaki hai chaaye….chaaye ki pyali me
abhi to zindagi shuru huyi hai, abhi to jeena baaki hai.
Dil abhi to…. dhadaka hai, armaan abhi-bhi baaki hai,
Poore ho….. na ho magar, sapne dekhna baaki hai..

Abhi to path par chalana hai, gir kar phir se sambhalna hai.
abhi to sapane bunana hai, pal-pal ki khushiyan chunana hai…
*Be happy all the time*

A Short Story
THIS IS HOW WE MISS OUT SOMETHING CALLED "LIFE"

A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage. They were aloving couple and the boy was the gem of their eyes. When the boy wasaround two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottleopen. He was late for office so he asked his wife to cap the bottleand keep it in the cupboard. His wife, preoccupied in the kitchentotally forgot the matter. The boy saw the bottle and playfully wentto thebottle fascinated by its color and drank it all. It happened to be apoisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages. When the childcollapsed the mother hurried him to the hospital, where he died. Themother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband. Whenthe distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, helooked at his wife and uttered just five words.QUESTIONS: 1. what were the five words?2. What is the implication of this story?-

ANSWER: The husband just said "I am with you Darling"The husband's totally unexpected reaction is a proactive behavior. Thechild is dead. He can never be brought back to life. There is no pointin finding fault with the mother. Besides, if only he had taken timeto keep the bottle away, this would not have happened... No one is tobe blamed. She had also lost her only child. What she needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband. That is what he gave her.”If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, therewould be much fewer problems in the world”

MORAL OF THE STORY
This story is really worth reading. ..... Sometimes we spend time inasking who is responsible or whom to blame, whether in a relationship,in a job or with the people we know. By this way we miss out somethingcalled L.I.F.E
